The Work of James Roper

The construction of each James Roper painting fuses disparate images from a variety of sources such as fashion magazines, animation stills, comics, the Internet as well as his own photo’s and drawings. James predominantly choose images and tries to create forms which he feel register a visual ‘peak shift’, a term given to the phenomena of ‘neurological attraction’ that appears in both humans and animals to an extreme characterisation of an object.

    Love the use of all the colors… I like that the artwork in the first few pictures takes the focus off of the woman's chest and makes you focus more on the designs…

    i like the skill of your illustration, the unpredictable style of the design, and use of bright colors against neutral ones. honestly, as a female i dont know how i feel about how you portray the women and their magical cleavage. haha but, i mean, if my friend drew those, i would definitely find humor in it (not laughing at the artist but hopefully with the artist, and for the right reasons…). just keep in mind that this can be translated as objectification of women.

    i dont think it's meant to objectify women…it's finding and unleashing the beauty within them… looking PAST the breasts.
    it's pretty amazing.

    although, i do think these people look like they are exploding lol
