We’ve long suspected New Yorkers and Bay Area residents like to hate on the City of Angels because it revels in it’s own fakeness, and Christoph Martin Schmid creates an fantastic illustration of this idea.

These photographs are not of an idealized Los Angeles, but rather of Cape Town, South Africa.

I was wondering why LA looked so much like Cape Town? Even down to the lighthouse at mouille point...
The whole revelling in fakeness part still fits quite well in the context of CT though.

I kinda figured it was Cape Town...like there is only one city where the muntain flow directly into the water..I mean the bottom of Table Mountain is unique in its make up.
