Photography of Christoph Martin Schmid

[Submitted by Aeron] Photographer Christoph Martin Schmid captures the Essence of Los Angeles by creating a sense of perfection to the place which doesn’t actually exist. We’ve long suspected New Yorkers and Bay Area residents like to hate on the City of Angels because it revels in it’s own fakeness, and Christoph Martin Schmid creates an fantastic illustration of this idea.

I kinda figured it was Cape Town...like there is only one city where the muntain flow directly into the water..I mean the bottom of Table Mountain is unique in its make up.

You know.. the artist never claims that these pictures are of LA. Yet, this website does. Why would this website post false information like that?
  • Aeron will get Wiped and punished for his mistake! I promise! :)

Awesome pics of Cape Town still.... I guess it is what he wishes Los Angeles looked like :)

I was wondering why LA looked so much like Cape Town? Even down to the lighthouse at mouille point...
The whole revelling in fakeness part still fits quite well in the context of CT though.

These photographs are not of an idealized Los Angeles, but rather of Cape Town, South Africa.
