Nike Free refers to the barefoot technology–each of the tile-like pieces on the sole you have pictured have deep grooves between, so the sole of this shoe has movement like no other trainer I’ve seen. The shoes come with a warning to wear them for a few days to work your feet up a little to the new feel. The lower the number, the more “barefoot.” These are 7.0, they have runners that go as low as 3.0.
