ALADYGMA (CLOVERFIELD 2?)
What is Aladygma? There is some speculation that it could be a code name for a Cloverfield sequel, or it could be a completely new film using the same type of cryptic viral campaign to intrigue audiences, or it could be complete bullshit. There are some clues out there in cyber space that could both support or discredit all theories above. Let’s take a look at some of these clues to try to get a better understanding of what could be going on.
CLUE 1: aladygma.com
First lets take a look at the word itself. ALADYGMA – if spelled in reverse, closely resembles the word AMYGDALA. According to wikipedia.org the amygdalae are almond-shaped groups of neurons located deep within the medial temporal lobes of the brain in complex vertebrates, including humans. Shown in research to perform a primary role in the processing and memory of emotional reactions.
If you go to the site www.aladygma.com , there is nothing that directly relates to CLoverfield or any J.J. Abrams project for that matter. However upon landing on the site there is a small, yet creepy resemblance to some of the early Cloverfield hints. Once you get to the page, centered, squarely on it are the numbers 00 | 11 | 22 | 88 (pictured below).

Above the numbers reads: ‘start date’ – in the bottom right corner reads: ‘coming soon next day!’ and ‘follow the whitespaces’. At first glance it seems as if that is all there is to it, no further information, no further links. But if you select all (ctrl + a) you see that there are a number of small links hidden and highlighted. This is pictured below.
These 6 links take you to 6 additional pages. The first link takes you to an almost identical page, except in the upper left hand corner are the words ‘thomas ist ein lügner’ spelled backwards. In German this translates to Thomas is a liar. Also the number sequence in the middle changes to ’00 | 11 | 28 | 28′. This is pictured below.
The next links takes you to a page where the center content changes to:
(small text) ‘student thomas | room 211′
(large text) ’211 | 2008′

Link 3 takes you to a blue screen with a x-ray image of a human skull and neck. Shown below.
Link 4 takes you to a white screen with a graphically stylized image of a girl peeking through a semi opened door with a look of horror on her face, as well as the number 211 written on it. See below.
The next link, number 5 leads to a red page with an image of a torn off section of a New York subway map. Circled on the map is the Chambers St station and written next to it are the words ’102 North End Ave’. There is also what looks like a bloody shoeprint on the map. Right underneath the section of map is a page from the New York Times, dated September 12, 2001. What does this mean? Well I did a little digging, and although it may be nothing, I’ve found that the Embassy Suites New York reside at that address, 102 North End Ave, standing right in the heart of New York’s Financial District. As far as the date on the newspaper, you can rearrange the numbers from the landing page to get 12 | 2001, but that still leaves the two eights. Any thoughts? You can see this image below.
The 6th and final link takes you to a page with a series of transitioning images. “And finally, an image of the Pioneer Plaque that was sent into space back in the ’70s, which contains rudimentary details about the human race in case extraterrestrials encountered it; if you stay on that screen a biohazard symbol appears with an arrow pointing to it, and then what looks like an infant alien from the alien series appears. This is probably the most confounding and descriptive detail thus far.” via firstshowing.net. Further information about the pioneer plaque can be found here. The series can be viewed below.
If you go back and take a look at the numbers on the initial screen and rearrange them you get ’1-18-2008′ which was of course an early working title for Cloverfield as well as the movie’s release date. Is this a definitive hint to a sequel? Keep in mind that the numbers can be rearranged in an almost infinite number of possibilities. Right now this is purely speculation.
CLUE 2: thewhitespaces.com
The page doesn’t resemble the aladygma site, but in the title bar of the page it does read ‘a.l.a.d.y.g.m.a.’ The site also features a video that cycles through various clips and images including a nuclear test, an alien autopsy, godzilla, UFO sightings, a man eating fire, a flower blooming, and a shuttle launch. The last few frames depict two messages. First it reads ‘follow the whitespaces’ and then ’00 | 11 | 28 | 88′. It has also been stated that there are explicit Cloverfield references scattered throughout the source code of the site. Some of the stills can be seen below.
CLUE 3: thenightshot.com
Thenightshot uses a similar select all feature to reveal hidden links. Once all has been selected the words ‘find me’ appear as well as a line to various cryptic symbols. Displayed on top of the image at the bottom there is also a number sequence ’00:01:15:14′. Not quite sure if this is at all connected, although this video is rather interesting.
CLUE 4: http://www.1-18-08.com/
On the 1-18-08 site a new photo was added. It reads ‘MISSING, Teddy Hanssen, last seen 12/07/2007′. On the reverse side is a symbol and some letters or numbers, too small for me to make out. However the symbol on the back of this photograph also appears in the upper left hand corner of the slusho.jp website. Pictured below.
CLUE 5: Auszug von Band 4, s.g. Dez 08 n. U.
An odd German youtube clip that strangely resembles the look and feel of CLoverfield, maybe too similar to be anything other than a cheap knock off or spoof, but the German factor may tie in with the “Thomas is a liar” part.
On the youtube page, one of the first comments is
“Dieses ist es. Dieses ist das Ende. Zuerst nimmt es den Ozean dann Amerika, jetzt es sucht die Welt in Angriff.”
Which translates into “This is it. This is the end. First it takes the ocean then to America, now it looks for the world in attack.”
One of the less coherent comments says “Noch jemand, der auf dieser Welle mitschwimmen will?

Which translates into “Still someone, which wants to along-swim on this wave? But the symbols are really ridiculous…:) Naja, everyone wants here its Aladygma/Cloverfield fun. The Aladygma side is however of Michael black and also only one fun….mal sees, when everyone checkt!” — via Kevin.

The first symbol (16:4 in the dictionary) refers to the Norse god Loki, while the second symbol (4:37) symbolizes secret, mystery, or initiation. The third symbol seems to refer to a “raid, riding or journey” (52:5). The last symbol (16:1) refers to water, or the sea. So we have a secret surrounding Loki that involves a journey. Or maybe we have a secret journey to Loki. Either way, I think the runes as individual symbols, rather than a single word, makes for more interesting discussion. — via Paul

Other In-Game sites such as http://www.jamieandteddy.com, http://tidowave.com/blog/, http://www.tagruato.jp, and http://www.slusho.jp all display the same symbol of a sword with a swirl/wave on it.

What do the futhark runes that flash in the last video mean?

The futhark runes are apparently Elvish (i wouldn’t know) and it supposedly spells out “April April”, which in German is supposed to basically mean “April Fools”. So everyone kinda thinks the video is fake because of that. I have no idea though.
that video with the dude definitely has something to do with ghosts, but i don’t see how that could tie in to Cloverfield.

If you notice on the “nightshot” video he hears the sound at almost exactly 1:18:08 in the video.
i think i got the first clue: when you click on one of the white spaces on the aladygma site and it comes up with 00|11|28|28…well add the two 28′s together to get 56 and then divide it by 11 to get 5.0909…put that into a date: 5.09.09 May 9th 2009…maybe thats when it comes out
and the white space that leads to the Pioneer Plaque…when it shows the Biohazzard sign coming from the Plaque and the Alien on the plaque…maybe it means that the aliens found the plaque and are coming/ are already here…..remember the end of the first one? when that thing fell into the water and was supposedly a satillite?

if you look at the source code on thewhitespaces.com website, the name of the video file that plays is “cloverfield.mov”, so who ever is doing this knows he’s tying the story to cloverfield

This campaign has nothing to do with Cloverfield. The site you posted 1-18-08.com is a Cloverfield site and the symbol added to the back of the Teddy Picture has been added to all of the sites related to Cloverfield, presumably some sort of marketing for the DVD. http://www.cloverfieldnews.com has all the cloverfield info you could want and Aladygma is not related, but that hasn’t stopped the site’s readers from getting interested in it on their forums, check it out.

Well, it seems to me that the problem is: Aladygma = AmGYdala, and not Amygdala. I still think it’s related to Cloverfield somehow, though.

There’s a new picture on page121. It’s the cover of an album by a folk singer from Israel named Shlomo Artzi. The album’s title is Moon…but note the yellow drawings on the cover. They’re the same from http://www.aladygma.com/w2a/ . I checked the net, and it’s a real album from a real singer, and guess what? The original cover contains the yellow drawings….very, very strange.

these are about teddy’s girfriend who was at rob’s going away party.
she talks about how she misses him and teddy begins to not call her or txt her anymore.
he sends her a gift but tells her to open it on 12/9
the day finally comes and its a tape recorder which says that a group named TAGRUATO has kidnapped teddy.
TAGRUATO is the oil drilling company which relates to SLUSHO.
there is also something he sends her in foil which says.”primary evidence” “jamie dont eat this”
a month goes by and she is mad at teddy cuz she doesnt believe him and she eats the evidence.
it begins to make her feel happy and less sad.
SLUSHO is supposed to do that to you.

I do not believe this is a sequel but the “fun idea” Abrams mentioned instead of a sequel.

Also, if you go to the screen with the 211 | 2008, I think that’s a major hint towards a release date of 11/2/2008. This would also fit the scrambled order on the front page as well.

To me, Thomas is a liar is leading to the idea of a doctor/scientist who either found something or experimented on something that had drastic reprecussions. He lied to cover it up and now the world is paying for his creation.

All these theorys are great fun and keep us inticipating something, but whats the story behind everyone “joining the humans” and alaydgma soilders? is it jus a mmo rpg? was it put in place by the creators to reward the diligent and presistant? any ideas?
The NIghtshot website might be a dud. I asked around and looked around, found the answer to the hidden riddle (tommorow), and the next page has the following:
same letters, same value, different letters, different value. each letter equals a number betwen 0 and 9. the M is equal to 1, the rest i don’t know.

Its a release date… The numbers 00|11|22|88 can be formed into a date of 08/28/2011 which is a reasonable amount of time for a sequel to be created. this is just my theory though.

you noted that when rearranged, 00|11|22|88 could be written as 1-18-2008. perhaps worth also noting is that the 2 is omitted from this. if it has been true before that 1-18-2008 stood for Cloverfield, i don’t think it a far cry from logic that 1-18-2008 2 might stand for Cloverfield 2.

I noticed on #4 that there was indeed a picture of Marlena. I have also seen many youtube videos that claim to be clues but they seem way too far fetched. Does anyone know of anything else stated about Tagruato Chuai Station that was used for marketing the first movie?
Well, JJ did say that they were not gunna do a direct sequil to the movie but the new project will have somthing to do with it cloverfield, this might be it. He said they had somthing special planned for cloverfeild fans, and in cloverfield they did have a king kong reference, now its godzille, and that thing on the pic ressembles a sattelite lite the one that fell, and in cloverfield there is a guy that whent missing in the back story. PPLE still don't know were the monster came from, sum say it was awakend, sum say somthing happend to some guy, and they chaind him up underwater and he transformed and broke free, and in the manga the guy saw it when it first came up, and he said why is it breaking free blablabla why is it coming up, and its pbbly that missing guy, or sum say its the mother of that lil boy, she whent fishing and never returned, and in the manga, he monster didn't do a thing to the boy, it was like he controled it.. nd the one that took down the 1rst oil drill had a tentacle unless it was a tale, but it looked more like a tentacle but theres to much to explain………………………………………………………..

When you follow the white spots one of the takes you to this picture of ALADYGMA in writing with a arrow pointing at the LA part in ALADYGMA which means to me that this is taking place in L.A but this makes me think because you have the german and Japanese and Chinese writing also in the white spaces so…weird i know
To ME…this is a VERY clear indicator that Aladygma is in fact Cloverfield. I've made this diagram to connect the 2. Nice and simple.

my contribution isn't much but i just felt it kind of fit in, traditionally monster movies represent a major contemporary event, i know for a fact that Gojira represented the devastation caused bythe bombing of hiroshima, and i'm afraid it escapes me what the zombies in night of the living dead represented but i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for you to do some detective work. My point is that i'm positive i heard either Abrams or Reeves mention that cloverfield represented September 11th, all i can say is that your research featured a subway map featuring the date september 12th 2001, perhaps the day after the tragedy of 9/11 refers to the day after the “tradgedy” of clovey's attack on new york since thats when the film ended, just a thought thanks for reading my WALLOFTEXT

The “alien” references lead me to believe that this may be related to Area 51, Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli's follow-up to the smash hit. Paramount owns the distribution rights to both Cloverfield and Peli's works, old and new, and it might be an attempt by them to interlink their first major viral smash with their new attempt.
Either way, very unsettling, and smart finds by you guys, eager and interested in how this turns out.

So, I think this Aladgyma thing is a hoax.. if you follow some of the new links they talk about how they sell viral marketing services to promote websites.

As an extension to samu's comment, the Aladygma site has apparently been updated and when you view the source there are over 20 links! If I'm not mistaken. I definitely see something in that rear view mirror!! I only recently discovered this and it is really freaking me the f**k out. I should be finishing my project. Good luck!
Found a link to brail image on aladygma that spells “alfredo postiglione”. A quick Google search gives me “http://www.biomedexperts.com/Profile.bme/1133447/Alfredo_Postiglione” and “http://www.facebook.com/alfredo.postiglione”. The first is similar to another Cloverfield site that I saw a while back but can't remember where/when. Not sure about the Facebook profile.
Also search for “Mjr. George Conrad” and came up with “http://www.facebook.com/Mjr.George.Conrad” and there is a MySpace profile as well…
