2012 BMW M6 - RENDERING SPECULATION

Posted by: Vandit | CommentsComments

These 3D computer generated images were created by graphics artist Guillaume Mouton in an attempt to visualize the next-generation BMW 6-Series Coupe and in particular, the top-notch M6 model. Mouton seems to have blended the shape of the long gone 8-Series Coupe with elements from the current 6-Series and the 4door CS Concept.

Sound off: What do you think of these renders and the car? Hot or Not?

    woooooow it looks great ... !!!! nice job

    Side profile is really nice, rear end is sleek too, but it's sitting WAY too low - looks like a bad drop on the back end. Front of the bonet is seriously ugly though, like it melted! But still, nice concept.

    Nice effort. I'm sure that took a lot of work, but that doesn't look like a 2012 concept. It looks more like a car that would be driven around currently or a year or two ago. The front and rear end needs to pull much, much more from the CS. The rear needs to be tapered in to give it a much more athletic aesthetic while the front just looks like a light design revamp from the current 6-Series.

    Again great job on all the work put into it, but it just doesn't look forward enough.

    Nice rendering.....but there is nothing really conceptual about tis design
  • It doesn't really look much different from todays bmw models and an evolution of a model may not differ much year by year, but this is 2021 concept. It really should represent what a car would look like 13 years and 3 or 4 models after. Just look at the 1995 M3...

    This looks nice, but the name for it is a mistake. I suppose some tuning company might be interested in doing something like this, because i think this is just a concept of how one should tune a bmw 6-Series.

    But the quality of thees renders are astonishing. Well done!

    i'm not sure how much you guys think car design is going to change in three years, i'm sure this car in design will be much more "forward thinking" then the reality of any car that bmw will release that model year.

    @mo

    A lot can change in three years. Just look at the difference between a 2005 3-Series (E46) and a 2006 3-Series (E90)... VERY different. BMW has been changing the designs every six or seven years on any individual Series - the time it usually takes any auto manufacturer to take a design concept to production. (For instance the concept for the 1-Series was presented in 2002 and then hit showroom floors by 2008) The current 6-Series design came out around 2003. Based on this frequency, it is up for a complete redesign in 2009/10. But seeing as how we haven't even see any spy shots for a new 6-Series on the road, a 2012 release date makes sense.

    BUT this rendering doesn't look conceptual or "forward thinking."

    I commend the artist on the execution of the model and rendering. But it really fails as a 'concept.' A concept vehicle is of course supposed to be a very concise expression of the company's future direction. This really isn't a departure from what we've been seeing for the past ten years or more. I could see this as a 2010 M8 perhaps.

    I'm a little bit disturbed by those exhaust pipes... President Bush promised hydrogen fuel-cell by 2020... This is 2021! Mission accomplished?
